Camp Crossed Arrows
Girl Scouts of Crowley’s Ridge Council, Inc.
Juliette Gordon Low, known as Daisy to her friends, believed that all girls should be given the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually. Her goal was to bring girls out of isolated home environments and into community service. She also believed that the girls needed to be in open air where they can hike, play basketball, go on camping trips, learn how to tell time by the stars, study first aid and to become self-sufficient resourceful citizens.
Katy Peterson says that her camping experience at Camp Crossed Arrows has helped her to be confidence in herself, make new friends and have fun outdoors. Katy said. "My camping experience has helped me to be more responsible for my actions and to be very helpful to others. Summer of 2006 was the best camp. I’m proud that Juliette Gordon Low could do this for all of the girls in the world. I can’t wait for camp next year. The counselors are really nice.”
At Camp Crossed Arrows, camping has been and still is an essential element in helping girls to build courage, confidence and character regardless of race, color, or national origin.
