BRONZE AWARD
The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award that Junior Girl Scouts can earn. The requirements for the award, listed on pages 202 and 203 of the Junior Girl Scout Handbook,are age appropriate for girls ages 8-11. The leader or advisor, who is working closely with the girl pursuing this award, decides whether the requirements have been met. The leader or the advisor can purchase the award directly from the council shop. The Girl Scout Central web site contains tips and information for girls and leaders and many examples of excellent Girl Scout Bronze Award projects.
SILVER AWARD
The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest earned recognition for girls 12-14. The award acknowledges achievements in skill building, leadership development, career exploration, community action and personal growth. The GS Silver Award project should benefit your community, which can include your school, your GS council, or city, and can be earned as an individual or as part of a group.

Where can I find the current requirements for earning the Silver Award?
Girls interested in earning their Silver Award must be using the newest version of requirements, entitled “Go For It! – Silver Award”, which can be purchased at our council shop. Girls must now earn both Interest Project Patches and STUDIO 2B Focus Charms to be eligible for the GS Silver Award. The requirements listed in the Cadette Handbook can no longer be used.
What additional resources does my council offer?
Girl Scouts of Crowley's Ridge Council holds an annual workshop in the fall to provide detailed information for earning the GS Silver Award. All interested girls and their leader/advisors are encouraged to attend. Participants receive a complimentary Silver Award Planner to help track their progress.
Is council approval needed for my project?
Yes. Girl Scouts of Crowley's Ridge Council now requires that all girls submit their project proposal (The GS Silver Award Intent Form) and await council approval before beginning work on the project.
What are some key Girl Scout Silver Award policies?
There are only six steps to earning the GS Silver Award, but you should count on it taking at least two years to complete. The first four steps may be done in any order, but must be completed before beginning to work on steps 5 and 6.
After completing the first four steps, each girl must submit a project intent form to the Staff Silver Award Advisor and await approval before continuing.
Each girl must dedicate 40 hours to planning and implementing a Girl Scout Silver Award project.
Remember - You can not raise money for another organization as a Girl Scout.
Upon completion of the project, each girl must submit the Girl Scout Silver Award Final Report form to the Staff Silver Award Advisor. If all requirements and deadlines have been met, recipients will be invited to the annual Recognitions Banquet to receive their awards.

GOLD AWARD
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. It symbolizes exceptional achievement in the completion of a project that encompasses organizational, leadership, and networking skills. Only about five percent of eligible girls take on the challenge of earning this prestigious award, but those who complete the journey change the lives of others as well as their own in amazing ways!

Girls interested in earning their Gold Award must be using the newest version of requirements, entitled “Go For It! – Gold Award”, which can be purchased at our council shop. Project ideas are reviewed and approved based on the guidelines established by Girl Scouts of the USA. Written approval from the Staff Gold Award Advisor must be received before beginning work on the project.

There are seven steps to earning the GS Gold Award; you should count on it taking at least two years to complete.
