GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL SHOP

TROOP REBATE PROGRAM

How does it work?

  • Each leader/volunteer gives the parents/guardians a coupon. Limit one per girl.
  • The parents/guardians fill out the information on the coupon. Remember purchases are tracked by Troop number so be sure they have the troop number.
  • The parents/guardians who make any purchases from the council shop between September 1, 2006 and November 30, 2006 can turn this coupon in to the council shop for your troop to receive a store rebate. Rebate amounts will equal to 10% of purchase. Rebate amounts are issued to the Troop as store credits only. There is no cash or personal value to them.
  • Council shop will keep a master list of rebate amounts by Troop number. Leaders/volunteers should contact council for rebate amounts.
  • Rebate amounts should be used between January 1, 2007 and February 28, 2007.
  • Rebates must be used for troop needs from the Girl Scout Catalog. The rebate credit can be used on the following items: Brownie GS Try-its (page 32), Junior Badges (page 33), Interest Project Awards (page 32), Fun Patches (page 30 & 31), Certificates (page 29) Studio 2B Charms and Books, and books (excluding handbook sets, because these are already reduced by $3.00)
  • Deadlines will not be extended.

Questions & Answers

Does the troop get cash back?

No, the rebate is designed to get more traffic into the shop. The rebate is a store credit to be used toward the purchase of key merchandise items.

Do phone and fax orders count?

Yes, when placing the order over the phone during the valid dates, make sure to include your troop number and mail or fax in your coupon with payment.

Will purchases at off site sales count?

Yes, make sure to mention your troop number as all rebates are tracked by the troop number. Off sites sales include Traveling Shop. Coupons will be available at the Traveling Shop site. Limit one per girl.

Why is the rebate only valid for redemption during January and February?

The council store is very busy starting in March with the end of year business. The rebate allows leaders to shop for their troops’ awards during these slow months when we have plenty of stock to meet their needs.

Dessert with an Author
Fund Development Event

Are you a SWAG? Ask yourselves these questions. Do you feel the urge to bake a pound cake after reading the obituaries? Have you had professional photographs

made of your children barefoot and dressed in their Sunday clothes? Have you monogrammed your shower curtain?

If you are still unsure as to your SWAG status, check with Melinda Rainey Thompson at our fifth annual Dessert with an Author.

The Girl Scouts of Crowley's Ridge Council, in partnership with That Bookstore in Blytheville, will be featuring Melinda Rainey Thompson, author of “SWAG:  Southern Women Aging Gracefully” for their fifth annual “Dessert with an Author” event.

The event will held at the Jonesboro Country Club September 28 from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at That Bookstore in Blytheville or at the Girl Scout Service Center in Jonesboro.  Tickets may also be purchased by phone by calling That Bookstore at 870-763-3333 or the Girl Scout Service Center at 870-932-2833 or 1-800-932-2833.  Books may be pre-ordered or purchased at the event for $16.50, and the author will also personalize each book.
