Please join us for our Dessert with An Author event featuring sourthern author Michael Lee West. Ms. West is the author of the best seller Crazy Ladies. She is currently on tour introducing her newest novel, Mermiads in the Basement a poignant tale that explores the complex bonds between a daughter and her father. You are invited to join us at the Girl Scout Service Center for dessert and conversation with this interesting and creative southern lady! Tickets are $15.00 each or $25.00 if you would like to bring a friend or daughter.

Girl Scout Talent Search
Girl Scout Talent Search will be held at the Forum in Jonesboro March 31, 2007 at 7 p.m. There will be four categories: Daisy/Brownie, Junior, Girls 11-17, and Adults. Entry fee is $10 and deadline to enter is March 16. All talents are welcome as long as they are family friendly. Please contact Raven Goodrich, 932-2833 or click here to dowload an entry form. All music and entries forms must be received at the Girl Scouts of Crowley's Ridge Council by 5:00 p.m. March 16.
If you are not entering the contest, come watch the show. It is sure to be a blast!!! Admission is $5.00. Concession stand and traveling shop will be open. All proceeds will benefit the Foundation of Arts and Girl Scouts of Crowley’s Ridge Council.

Help us bring back canoes and update our lifejackets at CCA by purchasing a Boston Butt or two. The Girl Scouts of Crowley’s Ridge Council will begin selling Boston Butts March 1 to raise money for canoes and lifejackets at CCA. Payment must be made at time of order and you’ll receive a ticket to present for pick up on Saturday, March 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Girl Scout Services Center. The River City Spice Company in Blytheville will cook the Boston Butts, which will be sold for $25. Spend the rest of the day shopping or enjoy your delicious Boston Butt by having a picnic in the park. While you’re here, top off the day by attending the Girl Scout Talent Show at The Forum in Downtown Jonesboro. Another great day in Girl Scouting! Are you a SWAG? Ask yourselves these questions. Do you feel the urge to bake a pound cake after reading the obituaries? Have you had professional photographs
made of your children barefoot and dressed in their Sunday clothes? Have you monogrammed your shower curtain?
If you are still unsure as to your SWAG status, check with Melinda Rainey Thompson at our fifth annual Dessert with an Author.
The Girl Scouts of Crowley's Ridge Council, in partnership with That Bookstore in Blytheville, will be featuring Melinda Rainey Thompson, author of “SWAG: Southern Women Aging Gracefully” for their fifth annual “Dessert with an Author” event.
The event will held at the Jonesboro Country Club September 28 from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at That Bookstore in Blytheville or at the Girl Scout Service Center in Jonesboro. Tickets may also be purchased by phone by calling That Bookstore at 870-763-3333 or the Girl Scout Service Center at 870-932-2833 or 1-800-932-2833. Books may be pre-ordered or purchased at the event for $16.50, and the author will also personalize each book.
