Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm

  • Women in Technology & Science (W.I.T.S.) Workshop ~~ The Women in Science organization at ASU invites Junior Girl Scouts in 5th and 6th grades to spend the day on the ASU campus exploring careers focused on the sciences and mathematics.  This year’s workshop will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11th from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. (registration at 8:00 am for those not pre-registered).  Pre-registration will begin Oct. 15th, online at http://clt.astate.edu/WomenInScience/2005WITS.asp.  There is a $5 registration fee to cover the cost of supplies.   Girls will attend four 30-minute workshop sessions in the morning, led by women professionals whose careers are based on science and math.  Following lunch, girls will attend three additional sessions.  Also scheduled are science/math quiz bowl sessions, lunchtime science demonstrations and talks, and a high energy, wrap-up session at the end of the day.  Participants are asked to bring their own sack lunch; a variety of snacks and drinks will be provided.  For more information, contact Ann Grippo, Ph.D., Associate Professor Of Biological Science at 972-3493.
